Celebrating 85 Years of Service Above Self
1923-2008
This
information sheet is designed to answer the most common questions of new or prospective
members. If you have additional
questions, please don’t hesitate to contact one of the Officers or Directors
listed below.
Club Meetings:
Classification System: Each Rotarian has a business
classification which is assigned by the Classification Committee, provided a
vacancy exists in the proper category.
Dues and Fees:
Initiation fee: $75 for first time Rotarians.
Dues are $200.00 per year, payable in advance, billed semi-annually in
December and June. Dues are pro-rated
for a new member.
Attendance Requirements: The rules of Rotary International require
that each member attend at least 60% of the meetings in each six month period
(January to June and July to December) in order to maintain membership. Missed meetings may be “made up” by visiting
another Rotary club 14 days prior to or after the date of the missed meeting. Four consecutive missed meetings, with no
make ups will result in a terminated membership status.
Meals: Current luncheon meal prices are $10. If you miss a meeting and do not make it up,
you will be billed $10 on your next dues statement. If you wish to participate in the club’s meal
billing program, please contact the club administrator.
Membership Proposal Process: Every Rotarian has the privilege and obligation of seeking
qualified new members. Obtain a new
member proposal form from the club administrator, complete the form, and return
to the club administrator. The
prospective member’s name is submitted to the board of directors. The board ensures the proposal meets all of
the classification and membership requirements and approves or disapproves the
application. Processing time for new member applications is usually five to six
weeks.
